The Mckinney Rotary Club had a presentation by Patriot PAWS Service Dogs on March 3.  Speakers were Ambassador Sharon Scott (also a member of this Rotary) and Trainer Lauren Villanueva.  The Guest of Honor was Peace, an almost 11-month-old Lab who is a Service Dog-In-Training who demonstrated some of her skills.

In 2022, McKinney Rotary made a $7,000 district matching grant to Patriot PAWS which allowed them to name a puppy.  They chose Peace as that is a mission of Rotary.

When Peace is about 2 years old, she will be fully trained and be given at no charge to a disabled American veteran.  It costs $35,000 to train (over their lifetime) these dogs to work with veterans who have mobility issues, traumatic brain injuries and/or post-traumatic stress.  McKinney Rotary is proud to sponsor Peace and looks forward to attending her graduation ceremony in another year!
